Our Favorite Safari Tours
But here are our picks, the ones we love showing you the most.
Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary for the Whole Day
For easy day trips from Nairobi, we call it “Day Tripping.” The Ol Pejeta Sanctuary is close enough to our main city to make it a day trip. Still, you can see animals here that you can’t see anywhere else in Kenya!
This inexpensive group trip leaves every Saturday and Sunday. You will share a 4×4 Jeep with other people who like to go on adventures. But every seat has a window!
Ol pejeta National Park
You’ll leave early, at 5 a.m., so you have plenty of time at the park. When you get there, you’ll see a lot of different kinds of wildlife that you don’t see in most parks. There are lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and a lot of rhinos at the park’s special reserve, making it home to all five of Africa’s “Big Five.” There are also cheetahs, hyenas, and the very rare African wild dog.
The park’s Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees living in the wild. These smart animals have been left alone or without a parent. They are taken care of here on the reserve and made better. You will see a lot of animals today, and it will be a great start to your outdoor life.
People from all over the world come to see the Masai Mara, which is Kenya’s most famous African tourist wildlife park. From July to October, millions of wildebeest migrate through the park, making it the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuary.
Since this is a private tour, you and your guide can talk about which parts of the park you’d like to see during your two full days here. That being said, you can’t go wrong because the reserve is full of wildlife—over 95 kinds of mammals, including all the big game.
We can go down to the Mara River, which is where the huge groups of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles come to the park every year to find water and taller plants. Many predators, like crocodiles, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and more, wait for them in the river and throughout the reserve. They need these grazers to stay alive.
The Great Mara always makes safari finds that you will never forget.
The Amboseli National Park is full of elephants, so many that you are sure to see some on this two-day private tour.
Amboseli is known as one of the best places in Africa to see big cats because it is close to the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the continent’s highest peak. Plus, you can’t take a bad picture here because the famous peak frames the elephants as they walk to their drinking holes.
The other four of the African “Big Five” can be found in this small park. You have a great chance of seeing them because the guards and your guide know where the animals like to hang out.
Aside from the beauty of seeing so much wildlife and the majestic Kilimanjaro watching over the park, this very famous reserve also has other things to discover.
The Maasai people are the first people to live in Amboseli. You can visit their town. You’ll feel like you’re in a different time when you meet these native people and learn about their way of life and culture.
A day trip to Lake Naivasha
In these lake areas, we may also see rhinos, giraffes, monkeys, and even one or two cheetahs.
Then we’ll go south to the Masai Mara National Reserve to see big animals. The ecosystem there is thought to be the densest in the area, which means there are a lot of big cats.
Also, if you come here during the right time of year (July to October), you’ll see the great migration, which is the biggest group of animals moving on Earth.
It is a beautiful flood of species that you will never forget.
Pick one of these popular safari trips… You can make your own, or we can help you do it. A trip through Africa is always a good idea.
