ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK FULL DAY SAFARI TRIP

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK FULL DAY SAFARI TRIP

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK FULL DAY SAFARI TRIP, This is a wonderful way to start your vacation in northern Tanzania. Arusha National Park is only an hour and a half’s drive from the city of Arusha. It has mountain lakes, savannahs, and high moorlands.

It’s not the most well-known national park, but that just makes this area easier to get to for people who know how to enjoy its many different landscapes. It’s possible to climb Mt. Meru, go canoeing, experience a rainforest with elephants, buffalo, and baboons, and be in the middle of the world’s largest group of giraffes all in the same day.

It looks a lot like the volcano top it is, but Meru is still safe even though it is active. On a walk up its slopes, you can see elephants, giraffes, and antelope as you pass through its different ecosystems.

This mountain is Tanzania’s second highest peak. It usually has a great view of its cousin Kilimanjaro, which is about 60 km (37 mi) away.

Have you been on a tour in a canoe? You can go canoeing in Arusha on a number of Momella lakes that are full of algae and have different shades of blue and green water. As you slide slowly across the smooth lake surface, water birds like cormorants, kingfishers, and bright pink flamingos will appear nearby to break up the greenery.

You may have heard of Ngorongoro Crater, which is another one of our day trips from Arusha. But you can see the smaller Ngurdoto Crater right here in Arusha Park. The lake is only 3.6 km (2.2 mi) across and 100 m (328 ft.) deep. It is surrounded by a thick jungle, where you can see elephants, warthogs, and antelope.

Listen for and look for blue monkeys, baboons, and black and white colobus monkeys. They will add to the fun and noise of the forest.

Want to See More?

We can take a break and go to the Ngurdoto Museum, which is close to the forest, if all the scenery and wildlife wasn’t enough. Many different kinds of birds, animals, and even insects from Arusha can be seen here.
