1 Week Safari Tanzania & Kenya, 7-DAY – 4 PARKS: AMBOSELI/LAKE MANYARA/SERENGETI & NGORONGORO CRATER

Kenya and Tanzania are both well-known for being great places to go on vacation. But you won’t have to choose which of these East African countries to visit for your safari with our Full-Week 2-country tour. You’ll enjoy both – captivating Amboseli Park in Kenya with its multitudes of big tuskers and Tanzania’s Serengeti with its unending fields alive with the big cats.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most unique landforms on our planet – it’s the largest intact volcanic crater, hosting its own world of concentrated wildlife. And the party of thousands of bright pink flamingos at Lake Manyara National Park will be stunning.

This very detailed 7-day safari starts in Nairobi and goes to Amboseli, which is at the base of the beautiful, snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro. Then, we’ll journey to Tanzania, exploring the wonders at Lake Manyara and stopping at Olduvai Gorge, the finest kept site of pre-historic man.

Serengeti and Ngorongoro will follow and thrill with their dense concentrations of the big game – lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo, elephants, and hundreds of more species that will wrap you in a total safari experience.

What’s Cool About These Parks?

One of the most well-known parks in Kenya is Amboseli. Why? It could be the almost limitless herds of elephants parading by the scenic frame of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Or, perhaps it’s the large game that’s so abundant in this small but active park.

Along the lake’s edge, pelicans, flamingos, and other colorful birds make the area truly alive. But what makes the park even more unique is the cats that can climb trees like crazy. And don’t miss the baboons!

Do you know about the Serengeti? It’s one of the most well-known wildlife parks in Africa, and the sheer number of animals that live on its huge plains may be overwhelming. There are more than 3,000 lions, as well as many wildebeest, zebras, hyenas, wolves, baboons, and monkeys.

As you stand at the crater’s rim at Ngorongoro and take in the immense green world stretching out to the distance, you’ll know this safari day is going to be special. In your 4 x 4 Jeep, you’ll lower the crater’s walls to enter an environment dense with wildlife – lions, rhino, buffalo, zebra, eland, hippo, and even pink flamingoes near and in the crater’s lakes.

The Extras

You may be able to enjoy extras like a breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the bush, traditional dances around the boma, massages, aromatherapy, Ayurveda, special diet menus, dinner at a Maasai farm, game walks, a view of a natural watering hole, and more.

1 Week Safari Tanzania & Kenya

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli Park

7:30 am Your Safari Trips to Kenya driver/guide will stop by your hotel to start the trip to Amboseli Park. Get ready for a week of safari fun.

As you fly over the African desert, you’ll see homesteads and then reach Maasai land, where you can see Maasai herders with their cattle.

We should get to the park late in the morning. At our Amboseli lodging, we can clean up and eat lunch.

We will get in our 4×4 Jeep and go on the first game drive of our trip. To start, we will look for lions, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, ostriches, and buffalo.

But you won’t have to drive or walk for long before you see the park’s famous elephant groups. Because there are so many of them here, you are sure to see some.

The tallest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, makes it impossible to miss. In the evening, the clouds that cover its snow-covered peak may part, exposing its famous peak.

We’ll go back to our hotel in Amboseli to rest and eat our first adventure dinner.

Day 2: Full Day at Amboseli Park

We’re on vacation right now! That means we’ll be up with the birds, or maybe even before them, to enjoy a game drive through the park before breakfast.

Today we will go on many drives to look for elephants, lions, buffalo, rhino, antelope, gazelle, warthogs, and many other animals. The first one will happen after breakfast.

We’re going to Observation Hill to get some fresh air and take in the view of the park from every angle. We’ll be able to see elephants at their watering holes and strange birds like the Egyptian goose from this great viewing point.

We might be able to see Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped top peeking through the clouds in the late afternoon, just in time for sunset.

At our Amboseli safari house or tented camp, you can have dinner and take it easy.

Day 3: Amboseli Park – Lake Manyara

You know how Amboseli looks and feels in the early morning; it’s a lovely, calm time. Let’s go on another game drive through the park before breakfast to look for lions, leopards, and the many grazers that live here.

As we leave the park and head for Tanzania, we’ll go on one last game drive. When we get to Namanga, the border town, we’ll have to go through customs procedures. After that, we’ll switch Jeeps and meet our new Tanzania guide.

We might see Maasai farmers with their cattle along the road because this is Maasai country. We’ll stop in the town of Arusha to rest and eat lunch.

We’ll soon get to Lake Manyara, a small but nice park. This area is known for its stunning pink flamingo flocks and lions that climb trees. You will be amazed and charmed by it.

We’ll go to our cabin in Lake Manyara for dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 4: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

Take a moment to enjoy this beautiful gift of the new day. Lake Manyara is also known for its beautiful sunrises.

After breakfast at our hotel, we’ll begin our trip to the Serengeti. We will stop at the well-known Olduvai Gorge on the way. The well-preserved site of early man’s tools and items. We’ll learn how this archaeological marvel was found.

After that, we’ll get to the Serengeti plains in time for a game drive in the afternoon.

It’s been a long day with lots to talk about. We’ve been to Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge, and the Serengeti. We’ll settle in to our room and have dinner while we talk.

Day 5: Full day at Serengeti

Today, you can go on as many game rides as you want.

People all over the world know the Serengeti for having a lot of animals. The number of lions here is thought to be between 3,000 and 4,000. There are so many wildebeests and zebras that it’s impossible to count them all.

This is where the Great Migration starts. Every year, millions of grazers follow an ancient instinct to herd and move in search of food and water.

Everything about the Serengeti is huge and amazing.

We’ll go to our Serengeti safari lodge or canvas camp in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

We will take one last early morning game drive through the park and then turn our 4×4 Jeep toward our last stop, the Ngorongoro Crater.

The area around the Crater is amazing to see; it looks like a whole separate world. This is the world’s biggest intact volcanic caldera, which has its own environment.

We’ll drive our 4×4 down the steep crater wall and land in a world full of big cats, rhinos, buffalo, hippos, zebras, and lots of colorful birds, including a lot of pink flamingos!

It can be hard to handle all the different kinds of wildlife that live here.

As we eat our packed lunch on the way to Ngoitoktok Springs, we’ll be able to see water birds and hippos.

In this busy, green, and full of life world, we’ll see more and more animals in the afternoon.

Then, in the evening, we’ll go back up to the edge of the crater to see a beautiful sunset, which will seal this amazing day.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – Nairobi

On this, our last day of safari, we might treat ourselves to a beautiful morning at the edge of the crater.

Then, after breakfast, we’ll take a break for lunch on the way to Arusha. You can be taken to your hotel or to Kilimanjaro airport from Arusha. You can also keep going to Nairobi.

But no matter what you decide, you’ll always remember the beautiful parks and wildlife in Kenya and Tanzania. We at Safari Trips to Kenya want to say a big “thank you” for caring about and protecting our beautiful natural world.
