Kenya Flight Safari Luggage Restrictions
For carry-on bags, 12 inches (30 cm) tall, 21 inches (53 cm) long, and 9 inches (23 cm) wide.
Bring Your Own Safari Bags
Things like purses, small umbrellas, walking sticks, coats, and small backpacks can be put under the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin if there is one available.
These things can’t weigh more than 5 kgs/11 lbs, and they count toward your 15 kgs/33 lbs luggage limit.
Bring luggage with soft sides.
Because of the limited room in the plane hold, we have to use soft-sided luggage for our flight safaris. Hard-shell suitcases can’t fit, so each bag needs to be movable, like a duffel bag or a backpack. Soft-sided bags make it easier to keep your bags safe in the small storage spaces on safari planes, which makes the trip go more smoothly and enjoyably.
Helpful gadgets
Helpful tools like wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes will be carried for free for disabled people who qualify, but they are not counted toward the luggage limit. You need to be able to fold these things up. Baby car seats and strollers and prams that fold up will also be accepted.
At the time of booking, you will be told how much other things, like sports tools and medical gear, cost.
Extra, extra luggage, and storage
People who are taking a scheduled flight can book and pay ahead of time for an extra freight seat that can hold up to 75 kgs (165 lbs) of extra gear as long as it still follows our baggage policy.
If you want to bring extra luggage, you will be charged USD3 plus 16% VAT per kilo for domestic flights and USD4 plus 16% VAT for Kilimanjaro and Entebbe flights, if there is room. This might not be a choice on the day of departure.
For charter guests, extra luggage can be arranged as long as the plane isn’t already full.
There is a free luggage storage area for people on the return flight who don’t want to bring too much stuff with them.
People can also rent soft-sided bags from our station for a fee.
