FULL DAY – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK SAFARI FROM ARUSHA

FULL DAY – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK SAFARI FROM ARUSHA, When you first see Lake Manyara, it might be the colors that catch your eye—the deep blue of the large alkaline lake that dominates the park, the deep green of the acacia and mahogany trees, or the bright pink splashes of thousands or even millions of flamingos that gather by the water. It’s easy to see why Lake Manyara was called the “little jewel” of the northern Tanzania safari route. You will see a lot of real wildlife, like monkeys, wildebeests, and the bright colors of hundreds of bird species and butterflies, while you are on adventure here for the day. And a certain kind of cat that lives up in the trees sometimes!

If all the different kinds of plants, animals, and colors in the park weren’t enough to make you smile, the Great Rift Valley escarpment’s towering cliffs can’t be missed. There are signs in this park that say it’s going to be a great day everywhere you look.

The Lake

The lake takes up about two-thirds of the park’s land during the wet season and is an obvious and beautiful sight. Because it is alkaline, it attracts a lot of animals, like pink flamingos, which feed on its large amounts of algae. There are about 400 kinds of birds in the park, and you might see up to 100 of them in a day.

Look for cormorants, storks, egrets, pelicans, and spoonbills at the lake, where there are a lot of flamingos. In the park’s woods, you might see crowned eagles, hornbills, little bee-eaters, pied avocets, and African spoonbills.

There are 180 different kinds of butterflies that fly around the park. You can’t miss them by the lake or in the trees. There is another beautiful touch in this short-lived space all around you.

The Animals

But there’s a lot more to Lake Manyara than just birds, bees, and butterflies. In and around the park’s woods, you can see all kinds of animals. What about a group of baboons that is one of the biggest you’ll see in any African park? There were also a lot of blue and vervet monkeys moving quickly through the acacia trees.

Want to see elephants, giraffes, and zebras, among other bigger animals? Not only will you find a lot, but you’ll also see Impala, warthogs, and bushbucks. Even lions have been seen lurking in the dark here.

But the tree-climbing cats that live in Lake Manyara might be the most interesting animals you see there. Looking up at the acacia trees above, you might be startled to see several cats taking a nap in the afternoon.

Hipos! Here are some more interesting facts about Manyara. You can find them at a surprising hippo pool next to a few hot springs. It’s a great place to eat lunch and watch them swim during their break.

You can’t always get out of your 4×4 Jeep and into some parks to stretch your legs and enjoy nature. Not so here. You can get out of your car and go on a walking tour to smell the flowers.

Finally, there is an interesting building that stands tall above the park. It is Tanzania’s first treetop path. From the 18 m (59 ft) forest canopy, you can see the park like a bird or butterfly if you climb up the suspended bridge. From above, you can see the shapes, colors, and animals of the park below, along with the monkeys and other animals that swing and fly.
