Your Kenya Safari Road Trip
This is the real Africa from stories and the real world of nature. On a safari trip, there’s nothing better than going outside and seeing animals on the hunt up close or finding a group of gazelles in a clearing out of the blue. How about following a big tusker on a tight road while he takes his time? You’d have to do the same. A tour in Africa is the only way.
Because time slows down in Kenya when you’re on the road. This is because of the continent’s long history of organized rhythms. As you move over these timeless settings and take in the beauty of the natural world in front of you, you’ll soon find yourself falling into this natural pace.
Have fun on the ride
Your 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep is a big part of your African adventure road trip through the plains and fields. For more than 60 years, this tough car has been the standard for safaris, and you’ll always have one on our tours.
Also, you’re sure to get a window place. As you drive through the mountains or the Rift Valley to get to the parks, you’ll feel like you’re on safari.
Small farms that grow coffee, tea, and pineapples will be in your way, as well as small towns where you can stop for breakfast or to look around the markets. If you’re going south to Amboseli Park or the Masai Mara Reserve, you’ll probably see Maasai people taking care of their cattle along the road.
There will be stops in their towns where you can meet the people who live there, see how they build their homes, and learn about their culture and way of life. People may even invite you to dance or take part in events in the area.
You have already done all of this and aren’t even in a national park yet! This is the fun part of a private game drive: you can talk to your driver or guide about all the different ways you want your trip to go.
Getting ready to go to the parks
When you roll through the gate of an animal park and into this safe area, there’s no better feeling. You’ll soon see antelope, zebra, and warthogs, which feed on grass, next to the road. Then, giraffes and elephants rise above the trees and look almost too real… But this is their world, and you are just a guest.
While you’re in some parks, you can visit special areas set aside to protect rhinos and chimps that are in danger of going extinct.
You will be looking for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and wild dogs as you drive deeper into the area. If you hunt with them, you might even get close to them afterward. This is nature in all its vivid complexity.
