When is the best time of year to climb Kilimanjaro?

To begin, you can climb Kili all year long. But July through October and December through February are the best months because they are warm and dry.

Also, you might not have thought about climbing to the top of Kili at night when the moon is out. You can get to the top with your flashlight, but it’s even more magical if you do it at night, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

Can I climb Kilimanjaro without a porter or guide?

In a word, no. Trying is against the law and a waste of time. Even though you don’t need ropes to climb Kili, it’s still not a simple adventure. You will also need the well-earned knowledge of your climbing experts to get to the top.

Just how hard is it to climb Kilimanjaro?

It has already been said that this is not a difficult climb, but it is still hard. The air will get thinner as you go higher. You’ll be hiking for five or six days, five to seven hours a day. More and more cold.

It will take some time for you to get used to being at higher levels of more than 3,000 m/10, 000 ft. You have to work hard at this, both physically and mentally. It’s important to get in shape for this journey.

Which routes up Kilimanjaro do most people take?

There are mountain huts along the Marangu Route, so you don’t need to bring a tent. This is the most famous route because it has a gradual climb.

The Machame Route is probably the most beautiful way to get to the top, even though it is steeper. The trek is hard, and you’ll be living in tents.

How do I get my body ready for the climb?

It’s likely that you already do some kind of aerobic exercise every day. Do something about your training at least three months before your climb, no matter what.

Swim, run, or ride a bike. Also, go hiking, building up your fitness as the climb gets closer. You have a better chance of making it to the top if you are in good shape.

Should I use walking poles on my climb?

We really like them. As your upper body helps your legs move your body mass, they give you more strength and endurance when going uphill. Your energy is spread out more evenly.

As you go downhill, the sticks help lessen the stress on your knees and hips, which lets you control your fall better.

Can I use my cell phone up there?

Yes and no. Your signal will go up and down, but you’ll be able to use your phone sometimes.
