Go Snorkeling from Diani Beach & See Dolphins
When we get to Wasini Island, we’ll learn about the Swahili culture there, eat a delicious seafood barbecue, and maybe take some time to rest. We’ll learn more about history when we get back to Shimoni at the end of this exciting day of diving and swimming with dolphins in Kenya.

The Start of Your Sail
There are ruins of a British colony here, as well as a beautiful coast, a forest, and old caves. Listen for the calls to prayer and the sweet smell of cloves in the air in the evening. This small town is where your sail starts and ends.
Island of Wasini
There are no cars or bikes on this tiny island a few miles off the coast. People get around on foot or in a wheelbarrow. At the west end of the island, you can walk along the path to see the beautiful coral gardens. Humpback whales and dolphins are also often seen swimming close to the shore.
Time Capsule: Dolphin and Dhow Adventure
Between 6:45 and 7 a.m. You will be picked up early in the morning by your Safari Trips to Kenya guide. On our way to Shimoni Village, we’ll go through some small coastal towns that have views of palm and mango tree farms.
At the Shimoni wharf, a motorized dhow will be waiting for us. On our way to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park, we’ll pass by some nearby islands.
We’ll swim, dive, look at the strange sea life, and hopefully become friends with the friendly dolphins that live there.
When we get to Wasini Island, we’ll go on a guided walk around the island to see its beautiful coral garden and mangrove swamps.
It’s now time for lunch, which is a Swahili-style barbecue with fish. After we eat and rest, we’ll set sail again for Shimoni.
Slaves were kept in these ancient caves before they were taken to Zanzibar to be sold as slaves. If we have time, we might go see them.
Today off the coast of Kenya, we sailed, swam, snorkeled, and found new things.
